THE BUILD PROCESS
Here’s how your TradiePage build works:
- Sneak Peek – Get started in under two minutes. Choose your trade, colour and icon, enter your business name, and get a FREE INSTANT sneak peek preview of your TradiePage. We’ll also email you a sneak peek of your custom logo, this usually takes a day or two. Here’s the link to get started.
- Get a TradiePage – If you’re ready to lock it in, you can go ahead on the spot, or do it later using the email link we sent you. If you can’t find the email, or you want to change your colour or logo choices, just jump back to our homepage and fill in the form again, it’ll only take a minute.
- Pay your Build Fee – Make your Build Fee payment securely by credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Check out our Refer A Mate deals below to see how you can get your Build Fee refunded right back to you.
- Wording & Images – This is where you’ll figure out the wording for your TradiePage and upload your photo for the ‘About Us’ section of your TradiePage. We’ll walk you through it step by step using an online questionnaire, and it takes about an hour. You can do it right away or wait until a time that’s convenient. You’ll want to be on a computer, laptop or tablet that has a keyboard and mouse.
- Under Construction – we build your TradiePage, and it will be live within a week.
- Construction Complete – this is where we activate your monthly subscription. Your first payment will be deducted on your Go Live date. You can cancel anytime.
- Go Live! – share it, post it on your socials, shout it from the rooftops, it’s time to put your slick new website to work.
Easy, just jump back to our homepage and hit the Get A TradiePage button again. Select your trade and then you can choose a new colour and logo. From there you can proceed straight to checkout, or we’ll send you a new link so you can purchase anytime.
Stage Two of the build process is best done with a keyboard and mouse because there’s a good bit of copying and pasting and text editing involved. A tablet is doable, but a phone would be a serious pain. If you only have a phone, you may like to crash a friend or family member’s house for an hour of computer time.
You don’t need any particular software, just a text-editor like Word or Google Pages, or a notes app, basically anywhere you can type and edit text is fine. We’ll send you more tips and tricks via email to help you get started.
Not everyone’s a wordsmith, we hear you.
That’s why we’ve created a ton of pre-written snippets and templates that you can edit and tweak, or just use exactly as they are. You don’t need to write any wording from scratch if you don’t want to, just scroll through our pre-written snippets and choose the ones that are the right fit for your business.
And don’t worry about spelling and grammar, we will proofread your page before it goes live.
No, your TradiePage comes with a brand new logo for your business. It’s designed to fit with your website for a modern, cohesive and professional look.
YOUR TRADIEPAGE
Yes it will. But then so does your Facebook page.
Having a website with a standard design is what makes a TradiePage affordable. Our product is aimed at tradies who don’t need/want to drop big money on a full-blown custom-designed website, but want to do better than just Facebook or Instagram. TradiePages are designed to be the ideal middle-ground option.
But keep in mind your TradiePage will still be absolutely unique and customised to you:
- Your business name and unique logo will be front and centre on your TradiePage
- You’ll choose from a range of colours, icons and background feature images that will give your page a distinct look
- Your specific geographical service region will be mentioned and targeted in multiple spots on your TradiePage
- Your wording will be customised to the exact services you offer
- Your About Us section will feature a photo of you, and an intro to your business
So even with our templated design, you’ll still end up with a website that looks professional to customers, and will be a cut above what most of your competition are running.
Your URL will be www.tradiepage.com/yourbusinessname
Yes, it’s 100% yours. We’ll provide you with two transparent-background PNG files of your logo, one for use on dark backgrounds and one to use on light backgrounds.
You can use these for whatever you want in your marketing, invoices, social media, business cards, stubbie holders, and anything else you care to stick it on.
(We’ll be launching an add-on pack soon with business card designs, invoice templates, t-shirts, stubbie holders and other merch, and lots more, stay tuned for that!)
No, your TradiePage is our product, it’s how our business makes money, so we do need to retain legal ownership. But you dictate what it says, and you can have it taken down at any time. The terms of our agreement obligate us to comply with your requests for edits or takedowns within two business days.
No, as per the previous point, this is our product, so part of the deal is that we hold the keys. This is different to a custom website where you would have back-end access, but of course custom websites cost $1k+ and are a whole lot more work to build, so we think this is a pretty great value trade-off. Our customer service team are always available to take care of any tweaks or edits of your TradiePage.
Yes, but we do charge fees for certain changes.
- Quick tweaks – add or change your phone number or social media links, or tweak a few words – Free
- Content changes – photo swap, hero image swap, change around your services or trust points – $25
- Bigger changes – colour change, logo change, email address change – $70 – these are more expensive because the work needs to be done by someone with coding skills, and they impact a number of elements on your TradiePage

Not yet, BUT we are actively working on a number of add-on features to make your website stand out and make an even bigger impression.
We’ll soon be launching a photo gallery section where you can showcase completed jobs, and also a testimonials section which is huge for building trust with prospective customers.

It’s super simple. When someone submits a form, you’ll receive a copy of their message straight to your email inbox. It will show the person’s name, phone number and/or email address, and their enquiry. To email them back you can just hit reply in your inbox like a normal email.
We recommend creating a filter or rule in your inbox so that these email enquiries are automatically starred or tagged to make sure they stand out.
These are completely optional, and you can select which ones you want to appear. As part of Stage Two of the build process we’ll ask you which social media channels (if any) you want on your TradiePage, and for each of those, what URL we should link to.
Google rankings are incredibly complex. Your Google ranking depends on competition for your trade in your area, exactly which keyword someone is searching for, how many external websites have ‘backlinked’ to your page, and a whole lot more.
So we can’t make any guarantees about where you’ll rank in the Google search engine results pages (SERPs) for any given keyword.
What we DO do is ensure your TradiePage is optimised for SEO, using techniques such as carefully crafting and structuring your headers (H1, H2, etc) with your most critical keywords, optimising image sizes for page speed, ensuring your metadata is set up correctly, and designing your page for the user experience metrics that Google prioritises, especially on mobile.
No online service has absolute 100% perfect uptime. (Remember the time Google went down? And let’s not talk about Twitter…). But you can be sure we’ll be very damn close, 99.9%+.
We are dependant on the up-time of our web server hosting and one or two other key services, but we have selected these providers carefully for their reliability, and have redundancies and backups in place to ensure the security and stability of your TradiePage.

TradiePages.com (the one you’re on right now) is our business website. It has all our product information and hosts the forms and information for the build process.
TradiePage.com is where your TradiePage will actually live. Your URL will be www.tradiepage.com/yourbusinessname
It was important for us to keep them separate so that we weren’t mixing our marketing with our product. It also means your web address is less of a mouthful to tell to customers verbally, one less syllable makes a surprisingly big difference to how smooth your web address sounds.
REFER A MATE
There are two ways to refer a mate and get your freebies:
- As part of the process of building your TradiePage we’ll ask if you have any mates you want to refer.
- You can use our Refer A Mate form any time, just enter your email address and their email address and we’ll take care of the rest. We’ll send them some info to get them started, and once they pay their Build Fee, we’ll process your referral credit within two business days.
To count as a referral, your mate must not already be on our email list. We’ll add them to our list, and note you down as the referrer. Then when your mate pays their Build Fee, that’s when your Refer A Mate credit is triggered.
Refer a Mate in your first month, and when they pay their $147 Build Fee, you’ll get yours refunded in full. This means you got a brand-new professional website for FREE.
We’ll refund your $147 back to your original payment method. Please allow two business days at our end, plus a few more business days for the bank’s processing time.
You can refer as many mates as you like, but the $147 refund is a one-time deal, and it’s only available within the first month of you paying your Build Fee. (We count the month as 31 days from the date your TradiePage goes live).
Once you’ve got your Build Fee refund, or if your first month has passed, any other mates you have referred will continue to count for the Free 3 Months deal instead, which is an unlimited deal with no time limits.
For each mate you refer who goes ahead and gets a TradiePage, we’ll pause your next three monthly payments.
This is an UNLIMITED deal, so four mates gets you a free website for a year. You can refer a whole bunch at once and we’ll schedule your multiple free three-month blocks one after another. So, for example, refer three mates at once and we’ll pause your monthly payments for nine months.
A referral is counted as soon as your mate pays their Build Fee.
Note that if you refer a mate right before your next monthly direct debit, we may not be able to pause that upcoming payment in time, in which case your pause will start from the next month.
If you haven’t paid your Build Fee yet and you refer a mate, and they end up paying their Build Fee before you do, you’ll still get your referral credit.
But rather than making you pay and then wait for a refund, instead we’ll send you a promo coupon for your Build Fee to use at checkout.
There’s a catch here though. Because of the way our payment processor works, we must take an initial payment from you in order to set up your ongoing monthly subscription. So the coupon code we send you will be for $146, leaving a $1 cost for your Build Fee.
Absolutely. If your mate refers another mate, then your mate’s build is free. And then that mate refers another mate and theirs is free, and on it goes.
So if you have a group of mates who are all keen to get a TradiePage, daisy-chain yourselves up and get all of you a website for free. Hopefully the last one in line has another mate, otherwise you all owe them a drink…
Yep, this is 100% possible.
Refer one mate to get your build for free, and then refer four mates per year to get your monthly payments for 12 months free. Keep that up, four mates a year, and you’ve got yourself a free TradiePage forever.
PAYMENT & CANCELLATION
Payment can be made by credit or debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Payments are processed securely through Stripe, so we never have direct access to your card or banking details.
When you’re ready to go ahead and get a TradiePage, you’ll first fill in our Sneak Peek form, which takes about two minutes (if you haven’t already, the button is at the top right of this page). You then be guided to the checkout page for your $147 Build Fee. You can do this right away, or we’ll email you a link for later.
Once you’ve paid the Build Fee, we’ll start building your TradiePage, which usually takes about a week. When your TradiePage goes live, that’s when we’ll activate your first monthly payment, and then they’ll be automatically debited from that date onwards.
Payments are processed securely through Stripe, so we never have direct access to your card or banking details.
You can update your bank details for your monthly payments anytime via our secure customer portal. It’s powered by Stripe, which means we never have access to your bank details, it’s all completely private and secure.
Yes, all of your TradiePages fees are 100% tax-deductible. We’ll email you a tax invoice for each payment you make with us, so at the end of the financial year you can do a search in your inbox for TradiePages and have them all ready to go.
No. The Build Fee is there to cover the time it takes our web-development team to build your TradiePage, just as you probably have charges for labour in your own industry.
So once you submit your Wording & Images questionnaire and we begin doing the work of building your TradiePage, the Build Fee is non-refundable (subject to standard Australian consumer protection laws of course).
You can close down your TradiePage at any time, just contact our customer service team and we’ll action your request within two business days.
We don’t do pro-rata refunds. Instead your TradiePage will remain live for the rest of the month that you’ve paid for. But you’re always welcome to forego this last period and ask us to close it down immediately if you prefer.
As your business grows, you may reach a point where you need a more complex custom website rather than a TradiePage.
In this situation, it’s super important to put a redirection in place from your TradiePage web address to your new website.
Your TradiePage address may be on business cards that past customers have held onto, people may have shared or linked to your TradiePage web address online or on social media, and it can still float around in Google search results for a good while too. You don’t want to lose these customers because you’ve changed your web address.
To make sure you’re covered, in the event that you decide to close your TradiePage, we’ll offer you a redirection service. This will instantly redirect anyone who arrives at your old TradiePage address straight to a new web address of your choosing.
Without the redirection, people who go to your TradiePage address after it has closed down would land on a 404 error page, which is clearly not good for business.
We recommend having a redirection in place for at least a year to make sure that everyone who clicks or searches for you online makes it to your new website. Our fee for a redirection is $24/year, and we’ll set this up for you as part of the close-down process of your TradiePage.
